Belgium tops the list in quality
of surgery according to a study by "The World
Markets Research Centre", a leading provider
of independent business and industry intelligence.
The results of the independent study on the
"Health of Nations" found that Belgium topped
the 175-country list with an impressive 98
points. Perhaps it is due to Belgium having
the highest number of doctors, hospitals and
universities per capita. Belgian surgeons
and doctors undergo many years of expert training,
places in university are relatively rare,
creating a competitive environment where the
brightest and most skilled individuals endure.
Both French and English medical methodologies
are studied giving levels of expertise envied
by other healthcare systems.
No Waiting Lists ..
Flexibility built into
the Belgian system means that patients can be
seen almost immediately; therefore waiting times
for surgery are often just 7 to 14 days.
Quality of Surgery
..
Excellent training standards
coupled with the best and latest equipment
ensure that quality of surgery is some of
the best in the world.
Low Surgery Costs..
Surgical costs in Belgium
are extreemly comepative and are a fraction
of the cost of USA prices and lower than surgery
in most of Europe including Switzerland the
United Kingdom, and Ireland.
Most Up-To-Date Equipment
..
Belgian hospitals and clinics
independent status means that revenues and
profits are ploughed back into new equipment,
this facilitates a purchasing budget envied
by hospitals worldwide.
Secondary Infection Rates
..
Belgian low secondary infection
rates make this destination one of the safest
for surgery.
As recently as 2006 reports from within the
UK and Eire health services, the news media,
and senior consultants indicate that the problem
remains acute in most hospitals.
Belgium's spotlessly clean hospitals and theatres
have no significant problems of secondary
infections and cases of MRSA are extremely
rare.
Comfort ..
Patients are normally accommodated
in twin bedded rooms with en suite facilities
and multi channel TV with English programs "Patients
enjoy levels of comfort and privacy often denied
them in the UK" Daily Mail.
